DR. PETERSONS BIO
Dr. Douglas Peterson, is a board-certified Chiropractor, director of Peterson Chiropractic Clinic in Oshkosh, and founding partner of Cento de Quiropraxia da Bahia, a multidisciplinary Chiropractic and Medical clinic in Ilheus Bahia, Brazil,
He received his Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, graduating with honors. He also was selected by Palmer College for the Roentgenology internship where Dr. Peterson assisted and taught at the B.J. Palmer Chiropractic Clinic in Davenport Iowa, a clinic of 550 Chiropractors completing their internships. He went on to complete and become certified in nutritional counseling, has been treating sports injuries for over 35 years and has participated as the sideline-treating physician at multiple sporting events over the years. Dr. Peterson treats many difficult conditions and injuries.
Dr. Peterson has been trained in and practices multiple treatment techniques including Palmer, Gonstead, Sacral Occipital Technique, Logan Basic, Applied Kinesiology, extremity adjusting, physiotherapy, nutrition, Craniosacrial therapy (Upledger Institute), Neuro Emotional Technique (emotional release). He has practiced in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for over 35 years and has lectured internationally.
As a part of a team of four Chiropractors, he toured and lectured at some of Brazil’s major medical schools, helping to start the profession of Chiropractic in a country the size of the United States. Another one of his accomplished goals was to establish, with the cooperation of Palmer College of Chiropractic, and a Brazilian medical school, to teach Chiropractic and graduate Doctors of Chiropractic with their graduating classes of MD’s, which continues on today. He also practiced at Ilheus Hospital.
